PTSA General Meeting |
Please join us for our last 2010-2011 PTSA General Meeting on
Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at 9:30am at the home of Isabel
McBrayer, 6160 Chapman Field Dr.
Please R.S.V.P to Isabel at (305) 790-4247 or

We will be inducting our new board members for the 2011-2012
school year and electing our new EESAC members.

Graduation News |
Graduation announcements are still available for those parents
that didn't order them in January. They are limited so please
contact Ms. Lima at
aflima@dadeschools.net as soon as possible. Graduation will
take place on Friday, June 10, 2011 at 2 PM at the University of
Miami BankUnited Center. The ceremony lasts approximately 2
hours. Each senior will receive their 6 graduation tickets on
either June 3, 2011 or June 9, 2011 pending clearance for
graduation. They will also receive their cap & gown with their
tickets. Extra tickets are not for sale and if any are available
they will be given out on a first come, first serve basis to
seniors immediately after school on June 9,2011 outside the
auditorium.
If planning on dinner reservations, it would be safe to schedule
closer to 6 PM to allow for delays exiting the BankUnited
Center. |

ready for the next school year. If you are interested in a board

Safe Date and Healthy Relationships |
|
The PTSA Outreach Committee of Miami Palmetto Senior High School
extends this invitation to the community to attend our "Safe
Dates and Healthy Relationships" Program. Teen dating violence
has been rampant in recent years--affecting young teens, young
adults, mature adults and celebrities alike. Last year we hosted
this presentation and it was very well received by students,
parents and adults from throughout the community. We are hoping
to have an even larger audience this year. Therefore, we invite
you to circulate the attached flyer to teens, parents, guardians
and community members who are interested in attending. We
appreciate an RSVP for any large groups (5 or more attendees) to
ensure sufficient materials for everyone. The program will
take place at R.R. Moton Elementary School on Tuesday, May 17 at
6:45pm. Details about the program are in the flyer. If you would
like us to provide hard copies of the flyer please let us know.
Thank you for helping to promote this important program. Keeping
our children free from emotional and physical abuse as they
develop relationships is critical. Attending this workshop is
the first step. If you have any questions or need additional

District 9 Feeder Pattern Advisory Council Meeting |
|
As stakeholders in your respective District 9 schools, teachers,
PTA representatives, EESAC representatives, school support
personnel, administrators and concerned citizens are invited to
attend this monthly meeting to review Miami-Dade County Public
Schools board agenda items and to provide your School Board
Member, Dr. Larry Feldman, with feedback prior to the School
Board meeting. Your input is invaluable as his constituents.
Dr. Feldman welcomes all stakeholders and concerned citizens
to attend. Meetings are held from 3:30-4:30 p.m. on a rotating
basis at District 9 Schools. Join this meeting for an
opportunity to affect change.
